RAC + Capital Eyewear

Andre Anjos of RAC approached me recently to take photos for a new project he was working on. RAC is a group who do remixes of popular indie and major label bands, as well as an international DJ duo. Andre had the idea of partnering with Capital Eyewear in San Francisco to release a limited edition set of handmade, wooden framed sunglasses. So I was asked to shoot them! And let me tell you, these sunglasses are tiiiiiiiiight. They’re only making 25 of these, so if you want to get your hands on them, better act quick. Preorder them on Capital’s site.

The actual shoot was so much fun. I’ve had my eye on Jennifer Sullins (aka Ryonen) almost since I first moved out to Portland back in late 2010. I’ve wanted to shoot with her for a while now (along with just about every other photographer who sees her work), but had to wait for the right opportunity. It was such a pleasure to work with her. She has such a powerful, unique look, and flawless beauty. So easy to work with! Along with Jennifer, I also needed a male model. I don’t know many since I mostly shoot women, but the first guy that came to mind was Nicholas Wilson. Primarily a photographer (and an awesome one at that), Nick also occasionally stands in front of the camera as well. Along with killing it as a model, he also was invaluably helpful with the styling of the shoot, as well as adding some positive (and hilarious) energy between frames. It was also the first time working with Terri Reece for hair and makeup, but I’m positive it won’t be the last. You can never take for granted having people to work with that do nothing but add positive energy to a shoot.

    Hey Jon
These are amazing. Uggh I can’t tell you how much I love them. Precisely the kind of photography i’d like to do someday. Very inspiring.
    All the best to you.
